This site is dedicated to the memory of Joseph Sykes.

On the 29th August 2009 our lives changed forever. Unbeknown to me, Joseph was in distress at 25 + 3 weeks gestation and arrived so suddenly and extremely premature. In SCBU he fought a good fight but upon transferral to a neonatal unit 41 miles away his tiny little body couldn't withstand the trauma and he passed away in my arms aged 9 hours old Within these past 4 years, as a family we have grown and been extremely lucky to have been given two more beautiful little boys. Joseph's little brothers George and Seth. We talk of him everyday and keep his memory alive so that the boys, when they grow up, will be able to understand just how adored and brave their big brother was and how loved he is by us all We started fundraising for Bliss a couple of years ago when I swam Lake Windermere at 5 months pregnant with Seth. This alone raised over £700 which amazed me so much. The complete generosity of people further encouraging us to carry on participating in events to fundraise for such a fantastic charity This year we have set ourselves several events to participate in that we are calling 'Joseph's Journey' As Joseph will be 5 in August we are aiming at 5 events. The Great North Swim The Great North Run School fundraising through his beautiful big sister Poppy 5 running events of 10k and 5k A last event to be announced I now campaign for Bliss and volunteer too. Each life is so precious no matter how small and fragile. Every baby deserves the chance to survive and with however much we raise I hope that we can help along the way. For these tenacious poppets and the amazing staff there isn't a mountain we cannot climb In loving memory, always and forever, Joseph Elliott Sykes. The most amazing little fighter this world ever saw xxxx
